What is Mystique?
We are an entertainment company that immerses our guests in an intimate escape with elegant five-course dinners and world-class magic shows in our Grand Dining Chamber. There are no other places like this in the world. We host public and private experiences. This original evening of fine dining married with renowned magicians promises a night of unparalleled pleasure.

Mystique's menu has favorite standards offered at all locations, best known for its succulent prime rib, while also offering upgraded Chef Specials that may vary from venue to venue. Main entrees for each guest are PRE-selected online at the same time of making reservations.

Offering an experience that guests want to repeat again and again, the vast array of prominent, famed magicians changes at the venues weekly. Additionally, themed holiday presentations begin in early September and continue through the New Year. The seasonal decor changes and is paired with experiences one won't soon forget.

Why is it called Mystique?
Overall, Mystique is known for its attention to detail with lighting, music, Victorian theming, and service combined with the highest quality of close-up magic. The ambiance is elegant, unusual, and mysterious; hence...Mystique.

How did Mystique come to be?
Mystique is the creative vision of Terry Commons, an Idaho native currently living in Utah. He has years of experience as a stage magician specializing in illusion and mentalism, has. directed over thirty Broadway shows at his Idaho venue, and has managed restauranutns in the hospitality and service industry in Utah and California.


How long has Mystique existed?
The birth of the concept originated in 1990 and came to fruition in 1997. It celebrated its 25th Anniversary in Las Vegas at the Magic Live Convention in 2023.


Are there other theaters like Mystique?
While there are a few other types of magic theatres across the country, none are like Mystique, and none have more than one location. The Grand Dining Chamber as presented by Mystique is original and unique. This combination of fine dining and world-class entertainment makes Mystique a one-of-a-kind venue.

Mystique Dining currently has venues La Jolla, CA; Folsom, CA; and West Jordan, UT. Franchise opportunities for Mystique Dining are expected to open more locations in the near future.


What is Mystique's “Grand Dining Chamber”?
Our Grand Dining Chamber is an intimate room where no more than 30 guests are entertained with elaborate themes and decor, gourmet dining served in courses by a hostess and butlers and mind-blowing magic is performed by the world's best magicians. Reservations are required ahead of time.


Is Mystique appropriate for kids?
We love kids! Most magicians fell in love with their crafts when they were kids themselves. Children are welcome as long as their behavior is not a distraction to other guests. Note that the evening experience lasts approximately two and a half hours which can be a long time for young children to sit. Also, our magic shows are presented with an adult mentality in mind and could therefore be confusing, frightening, or overwhelming to young children. Please use your discretion with children under 12. Children under 8 are strongly discouraged. Be aware that the seasonal Halloween presentations can be scary even for adults.


What is the seating capacity?
Our Mystique Grand Dining Chamber seats a maximum of 22 to 30 people depending on location.

The cabaret-style Prestige Parlour available only in San Diego, CA and West Jordan, UT seats approximately 60 people.


How long is the experience?
In total, experiences for bothh dining and the show last approximately two and one half hours. Dinner courses are served first. After dessert is cleared for all the guests, the up-close magical entertainment lasts approximately 45 minutes.


What kind of menu is offered? Is alcohol available?
Mystique Dining Chamber dinners offer five-course meals including an appetizer, salad, palate cleanser, entree of choice, dessert, and soft drink. Every patron has the choice of prime rib, a featured poultry, a vegetarian dish, or our gourmet mac and cheese entree. Varying Chef Showcases are available at the different locations. Special dietary requests are accommodated for food allergies or gluten intolerance and must be noted at the time of online entree selections. These may incur an added expense.

All entrees must be PRE-selected for each guest when reservations are made and purchased. The selections may be edited 72 hours in advance online. Wine and beer are available and. can be puchased at the time of the actual dinner. Guests may bring their own bottle of wine for a modest corkage fee.


Who prepares the food?
All food is prepared on site by Mystique’s Executive Chef and culinary team.


How does someone purchase tickets?
Tickets are purchased exclusively online. Be sure to select the location you want. Use the website: mystiquedining.com


Can reservations be made without buying tickets?
Unfortunately not. We are a theatre-driven box office that sells tickets to events. Seats are sold on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable with at least 48 hours notice.


Can you buy tickets at the door?
It never hurts to try. Sometimes all food options won’t be available at the last minute, but we do our very best to accommodate everyone.


Is there a “Dress Code”?
No. The grandeur of our décor and the overall formal experience invites many guests to dress up a little bit more, but there is definitely no dress requirement. Be yourself and be comfortable.


Is there a group rate?
Private groups (single purchase transaction) reserving the full venue capacity may receive a 15% discount.


Are gift certificates available?
Absolutely! They make the perfect gift for friends, family, and co-workers. Please note that because they are often sold at a reduced price, they may NOT be combined with other advertised discounts. Call Mystique's information/assistance for details. (916)293-9000


Are gratuities expected?
Our "service charge" allows us to pay our staff a consistent, competitive, and equitable living wage instead of relying only on gratuities. If you are pleased with your servers/performer and desire to provide a gratuity in addition to the service charge, please feel free to do so in person at your scheduled performance.
